Work starts on Camberley's new Travelodge Hotel development
Work has started on the latest construction project in Camberley with the demolition of Sun House, in Pembroke Broadway (one of Sun Microsystems former office buildings) which makes way for a new 100 bedroom Travelodge hotel and 3 ground floor restaurants.
The new hotel development is being carried out by Fairgate Investments who originally bought Sun House in 2002.
There is no doubt that there is a significant over supply of office space in the general Blackwater Valley area at the present time and Camberley is no exception to this, and as such, a change of use from existing office accommodation to another use will certainly do Camberley no harm and could be exactly what the town needs in terms of inward investment and a more diverse stock of existing buildings.
